Two or three kilometres along a side road at the entrance to the town of Louisbourg is one of Canada's great remaining lighthouses. Be sure to take time to visit the lighthouse as the setting is awesome and spectacular. We drove there from the fortress as it was raining but I think you can ge there with a longish walk from the fortress. The lighthouse is not open to the public

The lighthouse was good to see, and the waves crashing onto the rocky coast was so mesmerizing. Loved the area. Wish we could have stayed longer.
A short drive from the town centre. The sunset was amazing. You can get up and close with this lighthouse. There are some red chairs on the hill where you can sit, relax and watch the tides.
Spectacular views from this lighthouse. Easy to get to. For those not wanting to subject themselves to the crowds at Peggy's Cove. Great moderate hiking trail along the coast as well.
What makes this location amazing is the surrounding area, yes the lighthouse is something to see but the surrounding grounds and ocean and trails are incredible and well worth a visit if you are in Louisbourg. It won't take much of your time depending on the length of hike you chose. A must see
Across the Bay from the Louisbourg Fortress, this beautiful lighthouse can be reached by a trail or by car. Worth the visit.
