We went to Lake Superior on a warm day with the kids. The lake was refreshing enough but the majority of the "beach" is actually green grass. It gets really crowded too. But they offer clean bathrooms and reasonably priced snacks which makes life easy.
This is a great park, very peaceful and natural. Open spaces, the lake is crystal clear, and the wildlife is plentiful. The only drawback is that this place is understaffed. But, if you're looking for a peaceful place to recondition your brain and body, give this place a shot.
