We drove through Sugarite Canyon on our way back to Raton through Johnson Mesa after spending a half day at Capulin volcano. What an awesome drive!! The beauty was WOW! So green!! The wildflowers were so colorful & prolific! A must see!!!
There are two beautiful mountain lakes in this state park, Lake Alice (smaller) and Lake Maloya (larger). Good trout fishing to be had in Lake Maloya.
The visitor center staff and camp host Ben were SO nice and helpful! It was my first solo camping adventure and no reservation. Everyone was great. A little disappointed that the shower building was locked early the night I stayed but otherwise, no complaints. Clean...更多
