This two-story awesome brick building must have been impressive in its day. After the city folded, people used the bricks for other projects and all that is left are a couple of walls. I visited back in 1981. It is worth a side-trip if you are in the area. Watch out for unmarked vertical mine shafts on the nearby hillsides!
Gary, from the Black Range Lodge, opened the bank for us for a little tour. The building maintains its historical status with the existing interior wooden structures including the teller's window. The original vault remains and is incredible to see. There are many historical photos and other artifacts. Absolutely worth a visit if you are history buff.
