There is no better way around Portsmouth than to walk. There is sight seeing with many historical locations. But the Harbor walk is quiet and fun and perfect to get away from the crowds.
Great fun wandering along the Portsmouth harbor. I walked over the bridge to Badger's Island, Maine and then watched them elevate the roadway to make room for a ship passing underneath. The scenery and architecture are interesting and worth an hour or two.
We had just finished the gardens nearby and decided to walk along part of the waterfront. It wasn't crowded and tide was out. Saw the lift bridge in action and nice to see the tugs and boats of all sizes moored beside the docks. The...更多

Our tour lasted for about 1 1/4 hours. Took us out to the beginning of the shoals and narrated throughout with interesting history and anecdotes of fun tidbits.
