This has always been one of the smaller roadside "attractions" that we blow by as we cross the country. This time, however, we laid over in Three Forks and made a day trip to the caverns. Apparently, not really related to L and C but it is a truly amazing couple of hour trip. Way more hands on than Mammoth... 更多
I never get tired of visiting the Lewis & Clark Caverns during their regular season, but doing the candlelight tour in late December is a special treat that should be on your bucket list. an experience you will never forget. it's a bit of a hike to the entrance but an exciting decent into the cavern with a knowledgeable guide... 更多
Not for the faint of heart but it`s a great tour. There is some duck-walking,some sliding on the butt, and a lot of places to bump ones head but worth the trouble.Glad I did this after years of driving by the signs. The deeper you go the more spectacular the formations. Our guide was great-knew the system and history well and was very pleasant.
Be warned....there are over 600 stairs and tight squeezes in the tour. The hike up to the entrance is about 1/2 mile and is a moderate grade. The information on the website is lacking. I was on a tour with a pregnant woman and I am not in great shape. It was difficult for both of us. The guides are... 更多
You need to be fairly agile for this tour. First you have the three-quarter mile walk uphill to the cavern entrance. Inside is another three-quarter mile walk requiring many steps, stooping over and sideways to get through many tight spots, and even a short slide (definitely fun for the kids). We were added on to a school group of 4th... 更多
The cave tour is very good but is very strenuous. On warm days the walk on the trail to the entrance will be taxing for many people. The cave itself is fascinating but be aware there are lots of stairs and low passageways. The tour is definitely worthwhile and interesting. I found that our tour guide was difficult to understand... 更多
Not very far off the interstate, and definitely worth the stop. We stayed nearby in our camper, and made a 2 night one day stay out of this- and were really glad we did!
Great tour through the cave, and our guide was very entertaining and informative. Definitely worth a visit. Be prepared though, there is a long hike uphill to get to the cavern entrance, and it will be a challenge for those not in good shape.
This was a last minute trip. We got out our map and searched for a 4 hr radius and this is were our finger landed. We have visited many caverns in the western states and they are all unique. We were pleasantly surprised by the length of the tour and the historical facts that were shared along the way. Our... 更多
