We had a little time before our flight from Helena, and decided to take a look at the State Capital. The Capital building was open to the public, free of course, and very easy to walk though to see the artwork, statues and great architecture.
Enjoyed walking through the Capitol building. There was a guided tour, but we didn't have that much time. The stained glass windows, the very large paintings about Lewis and Clark, and the beautiful rotunda were certainly worth the visit.
The State Capitol is full of interesting artifacts about Montana. The architectural history of the building is quite fascinating. There are sculptures and memorabilia located in different locations. We met quite a few politicians and staff. A good experience overall!
The stained glass windows are spectacular and the marble that is everywhere is incredible. The western artwork is fantastic and you really get the old west feel.
