The stained glass windows are spectacular and the marble that is everywhere is incredible. The western artwork is fantastic and you really get the old west feel.
This would have to be one of the best building we have seen in the USA. On our way to Missoula we found this amazing piece of architecture in Helena. Will only take a short amount of time to take some photo's but well worth it. Squirrels abound in the trees surrounding.
I did not know what to expect coming from the UK. I really did not expect to be able to walk into a government building with nothing more that a 'good afternoon' from the security guard. Totally open, you have totally free access to all open areas. We had a guide from the local historical society, this was free, but... 更多
Despite all the post 9-11 paranoia elsewhere, Montana's State Capitol Building still has an open door policy and is available to all for viewing. The couple of security folks there are mostly for information and directions. Feel free to wander the House and Senate Galleries, drop in on the Governor or staff, enjoy the western and regional art work by... 更多
Helena's capitol building is beautiful. You will love seeing all the CM Russell paintings. The marble throughout the building is just beautiful. Be sure & set aside a couple hours to walk around & take in all the history.
I have been to the Montana State Capitol a few times and there seems to be a lot of interesting items to review and read about the historical information. The building is in great shape and has been updated in the past years to keep the building looking very presentable. There are interesting vendor displays going on inside the rotundra... 更多
The Montana State Capitol is "the People's House," and is open most days whether the legislature is in session or not. The house and senate chambers, though small compared to some states', are impressive in their own right; and you can see the famous Charlie Russell mural of Lewis and Clark meeting the Shoshoni. Other historic and historical murals, nicely-refurbished... 更多
We were here for two weeks and thought we would stop by the state capital. It's a must see. There's so much history and so much going on! Come on out and see what's happening! My teenager was very intrigued by the factual information!
The Capitol building is a must see if you stop in Helena. It's access is one of the most liberal, and for a donation (or none at all) you can get a guided tour of the entire building g with folks who know a ton of history about the building!
