The revitalization of this area of Kansas City in the past decade or so has been brilliant. It is a great place to explore anytime, but a fabulous place to be on First Fridays . . . art, shopping, and restaurants.

The Crossroads district in just off downtown Kansas City, Missouri is loaded with galleries, exhibits and boutique restaurants. For those looking for high end dining, there are several very nice, popular venues on the south end, bordering the railyards. The area has become hughly popular with locals and weekends are packed.
Take some time and enjoy the Crossroads District on your next "first friday" or on the weekend. There are now lots of galleries, art shops and restaurants I bet you haven't tried yet and it's really put a shine on the south side of downtown KC.
The Crossroads has evolved over the years as the arts district. As more and more artists moved into the area it was naturally followed by a number of small galleries and eventually, a number of restaurants ranging from cheap eats to fine dining.
