What a beautiful memorial to the victims, volunteers and the great people of Joplin who endeared the tragic tornado that devastated this part of the state in May 2011. The park is very large, well maintained and a wonder tribute to how the town has come back from this tragedy. There are beautiful fountains, a basketball court with a small... 更多
It's a nice park for kids, families, couples, and everyone else. Lots of space, paved walking trails, ponds, fountains, playground equipment, swing sets, a swimming pool with slides, and an amazing memorial and educational area that commemorates the EF-5 tornado that hit Joplin in May 2011. The landscaping is also nice. The parking lot is well maintained. A nice place... 更多

No one that lived in or around the city of Joplin, Mo will never forget May 26, 2011. An EF5 Tornado drestroyed 1/3 of the city and 161 people lost their lives. Cunningham was directly hit buy the storm. No rebuilt with new family and kids areas and several tributes to that date and the lives that were lost. Great... 更多
Cunningham Park was right on the trajectory of the tornado that hammered Joplin in 2011. As the town was cleaned up and being partially restored, Cunningham Park became the site of the memorial for the 150+ individuals who died in that disaster. The setting is serene and touching. Well worth a visit.

To read about the day the tornado ripped through this neighborhood and the stories of the butterflies just sent chills over me. We walked... 更多

There also was standing water on the floor, graffiti on the stall and no hand soap. A public park with no soap in the bathroom? Great idea! Decided to go down one of the slides since... 更多

The butterfly garden serves as a memorial to the victims and to the "butterfly people" who many say saved their lives or protected them during the tornado. Here are fountains, trails and plants to attract butterflys. There are also two great playgrounds. One contains the... 更多
