After searching high and low, we finally found it. Once there, is very interesting side-stop. Would not go just for it. It is in the older part of New Ulm, so there were many shops to visit on the same street.
We had to kill time for a couple hours to catch it playing, but it was cool to see (albeit a bit long at 10 minutes). I liked that signage explained the meaning behind each of the figures and the story behind the glockenspiel. Side...更多
We stopped and watched the show this past weekend. It is a nice setting with information posted nicely. It does take about ten minutes and it is pretty loud...but it is a unique activity and we enjoyed it. I am not sure I would want...更多
We stopped by here while we were in New Ulm (we were camping near here). This was kind of neat but the Glockenspiel only does shows every two hours. So we basically ran down there to there on the hour then found out that the...更多
So many of the attractions, restaurants, and people of New Ulm make this area special, especially pertaining to the German culture. However, this 10 minute show really puts the icing on the cake. The Glockenspiel, easily my Dad's favorite German attraction throughout not only New...更多
I'd never seen a Glockenspiel before, but had an idea after reading reviews on TA. When the door opened and the figures slid out, I was delighted! We watched them circle around for their 10 minute show, until they retired once more behind the door....更多
The whole performance lasts about 10 minutes, and it happens at noon, 3pm and 5pm each day. Having never seen another Glockenspiel, and having nothing to compare it to, I enjoyed it. If I lived within 2 blocks, I would lose my mind.
If you can, take the 15 minute break to listen to the bell carols and watch the carved wooden statues move and dance while the music plays. A unique and uncommon way to experience German heritage in the USA.
