If you're in town during the summer you have to stop by this beautiful garden right in the city. It's a great place to come for a picnic or date.
The Lake Harriet Rose Garden is a wonderful diversion during a jog, walk, or bike trip around Lake Harriet. It really is beautiful when the roses are in bloom. However, be warned that there isn't much shade. Roses like sun, so if it's a hot day don't expect this to be a good place to cool off.
With a little luck, you can visit the Rose Garden when many of the plants are in bloom. My wife and I enjoy walking through row after row of lovely roses looking for the most symmetric and fragrant blossoms. This is calming and fun.
The is a beautiful, peaceful, garden near the shore of Lake Harriet. Perfect stop on a bike trip, or just a drive around the lakes.
We have been visiting the Lake Harriet rose Gardens for many years. If you are a rose lover and enjoy growing roses especially in Minnesota climate, it is a lovely visit. The rose aroma is terrific and I always bring my camera along.
If you're in the lakes area, this is adjacent to Lake Harriet, and Lyndale Park. Take a detour from Harriet, and stroll through this Rose Garden (check seasonality), and also the Lyndale park next door. Lovely spot for a picnic in the grass.
There is a series of gardens in the Lake Harriet area-the Rose Garden, the Perennial Garden, the Peace(or Rock) Garden and the Trials Garden. They are sometimes called the Lynndale Park Gardens. We visited the Rose Garden about two weeks late to see the peak blooming time, but it was clear there was well over 200 kinds of roses blooming... 更多
The rose garden is basically several plots of roses. Don't expect incredible landscaping or arbors to use as prom picture backgrounds or anything. Not knowing anything about roses myself, I may just be missing the allure, but there's not much to see here.
We stopped to walk through the gardens on a steamy Tuesday. Fun to see the beautiful colors of roses, the organization of the different colors and the fountains and art along the way. I'll be back!
