I just came back from a short hike up and down the creek and it amazes me that it's only a mile from where I live. In some other cities it would be a significant tourist attraction but we take places like this for granted in Duluth. It makes for a wonderful hike with waterfalls and ponds to sit by... 更多
Every time I come to Duluth, I find new treasures to revisit. The hiking trails are a bit rough in this one, wear sturdy shoes but do make the climb to the upper part. The waterfalls are spectacular.
I always visit Chester Park on my trips to Duluth, in every season. The park offers quiet trails along Chester Creek that are up close and personal with nature. A fine place to spend an hour or 4 with solitude and exercise. You choose.
The trails along the river are easy to navigate. Many photo ops along the way. On the day we went the fall colors were gorgeous! There is a playground at the start of the trail along with restrooms.
This is a great spot right in town to get out for a good hike. Great views of the river with many waterfalls and rock formations right off the trails!

Chester Park is absolutely beautiful. The creek runs through the park. The water is low enough to be able to walk across the stones but still enough to make that peaceful running water sound. It is a great place for a picnic.
Nice little park in the heart of the city, summer concerts, light hiking, a swimming hole and skiing in the winter.
Hiking trail along Chester Creek is fairly easy and even includes a nice waterfall. Even though you are in the middle of town you feel like you are out in the woods. During the summer they have free concerts every Tuesday evening with a family atmosphere.
