We used to live in the Chicago suburbs, our town had a good library. But this one in Traverse City is simply amazing for the range of services beyond an excellent inventory of books. You can bring your coffee and find a nice spot to work or just read. Internet is almost always reliable here although they do attempt to block some sites. Lot of comfortable seating areas with good light and nice views. The architecture is good too.
I love this library. It has plenty of different seating options on two floors, beautiful views of Boardman Lake, and a wonderful book, video and audio selection. It also also a big computer room, several "quiet" rooms, a well-stocked children's section and separate teens' section with lots of graphic novels for the tween and teen age group.
Plenty of cozy spots to sit and read, work, listen to music. Excellent inventory of books, music, movies. Also magazines and newspapers.
The Traverse Area District Library - main branch on Woodmere, is an excellent library for a town the size of Traverse City. They have a nice selection of literature and reference material, as well as books on tape, videos, DVD's and CD's. We frequent it several times weekly.
I often go to the library for DVD's and playstation games. Many new releases and they are free. The library has so much to offer the public, such as free computer use, magazines, books, children and teen resources, classes, free WiFi. There are 2 levels with elevator access.
