It's unfortunate that this landmark seems to be considered overrated, because it's really something to see. Yes it's been photographed/painted etc countless times, but don't let that discourage you from visiting. Rockport is such a perfect little New England town, and Motif 1 sets the mood and makes ya happy!
Visited Motif No. 1 on an unusually warm winter day. The sunlight and colorful boats in the harbor added to its picturesque qualities! (Parking is much easier in the winter, too!)
This awesome icon of Massachusetts, Cape Ann, and Rockport was featured in "The Proposal" directed by Anne Fletcher and starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. Shame on you Anne for taking such an iconic part of Massachusetts and dropping into a movie set in Alaska. Did you think we wouldn't notice? It looked ridiculous. If you are travelling, come and... 更多
I could not wait to get back and paint this! Everyone else has! The village has so many different types of art representing this little gem in the heart of Rockport/Bearksin Neck. You will never see it the same way twice.
As the centerpiece of Rockport Harbor, Motif Number 1 draws the eye from every angle. The best view is from T Wharf, where you can also admire the lobster boats, the Sandy Bay Yacht Club, and the recently-reconstructed breakwater. Actually a copy of the original building (destroyed in the Blizzard of 1978), there is another copy at Granite Pier north... 更多
Dazzling colors and shapes invite you to photograph or paint this historic boat house. It is located in the heart of Rockport, Mass.
Really loved this quaint little village. Best picture we took othe day was of this old fishing shed. Had several people say it should be framed. Some quaint shops to visit close by as well.
I'm a huge movie nerd and the only reason I wanted to stop here was because the Alaskan parts of Proposal were filmed here. While, it was cool to see the filming location, the town had much more to offer. Motif Number 1 was beautiful and a great place to take some pictures!
Notif Number 1 is a small red old building, you can make some good pictures by photo or to paint it. That's all but if you visit Rockport you must see it.
