This old tree is interesting if you know the story of Evangeline and the Acadians. The whole history of the Acadians and their relocation to French Louisiana is very interesting and an important page in our history.

The oak was huge and beautiful. The river area was lovely and had easy access from the church. Very romantic and pretty.

This Longfellow poem has always been one of my favorites so it was very inspiring to be in the location where his two Acadian protagonists are reunited.

Endroit calme et reposant tout en admirant le bayou Téché . Un lieu mythique pour toute la diaspora Acadienne.

Located on the Bayou Teche. There is a large Oak Tree. The tree is associated with a Longfellow poem "Evangeline". The park is small. There is a walkway along the Bayou.
