The pendulum clock at the downtown Lexington Central Library is very unique - you will not see another one like it. In addition, there are very well done horse paintings all around the area housing the pendulum. Definitely worth seeing if in town.
Did not expect much walking into this Library, but it was pretty awesome. The mosaic, the pendulum and several other unique art pieces
Beautiful library with very inclusive genealogy research area on 2nd floor. Plenty of space /tables to spread out and look. warning- place is kept very cool & air conditioned. Bring sweater if there for very long! Staff very helpful.
The clock is a unique and beautiful piece of art as well as a timekeeper. It will appeal to those with a scientific mind and an appreciation for public art. The clock is in Lexington's Main Branch of the Public Library which is housed in a relatively new building. The building itself is not to my taste but some may... 更多
This is definitely worth the walk or drive to the downtown area. The pendulum swings with the rotation of the earth, which is amazing enough, but the library itself is impressive with 3-4 floors. It's well kept and clean. The librarians are very knowledgeable.
This is a cool little exhibit. Big Pendulum showing the movement of the earth in a day. Should take 5 to 10 minutes to enjoy. Not worth a separate trip, but if you are exploring Downtown Lexington it is a worthwhile stop. It is in the Atrium of the main Public Library branch, a short walk from the most excellent... 更多
My family loves books, so the library was a must. Beautiful building even if you don't like books. Take the time to go to the top floor and see the view from the there!
We were lucky enough to get a parking space right in front of the library. The library is pretty and nice enough. The clock is not work at this time and they are getting it fixed. There was an exhibit of local photos in the gallery.
Another great place to visit in Lexington. The city is quickly becoming our second home. We sit and enjoy the extensive library and the clock is inspiring
We participated in a game the visitor's center of Lexington has made called "Big Lex". We learned our way around the city and it was fun. If you haven't ever seen one of these clocks it's sure worth the time to do so.
