Just around the corner from our hotel. Great place to visit the monument is something to see. Many places to eat and shop around the circle. We couldn't go up to the top it was closed when we got there. Really scenic at night when the water is lit up.
I had never walked up the stairs of the Soldiers & Sailors monument in Indy before. But this April I did so with relatives. A great experience, and a great story.
The Cicil war museum in the base is very well done - to gain a brief understanding of the strife and the impact of that difficult war.
I live in the south so have the opportunity to see a civil war museum from a different perspective is refreshing this a great little museum. It was free to tour and for a small donation you can travel up to the top of the monument and see the whole city.
Adventuring around Indy on a Sunday before driving back home, I turned the corner and saw this beautiful monument nearly in the middle of town! This monument is truly something else in the middle of the square that it's located in. I'm not sure if you are able to get inside of the monument (seemed to be closed while visiting)...
