I've been here twice. Once in February during a snow storm and in August during a nice warm day. I'm from California so I appreciated the seasonal views. The winter white was just as striking as the colors in August. Both months offered an oasis of quiet and beauty. I hope all the students at U of I get a... 更多
The University of Illinois Arboretum is pretty sizeable. It is a collection of a number of individual gardens, ponds, the Japan House, and the Idea Garden. We saw beautiful flower displays when we went in late August. I think it would be nice to stroll the grounds in each season, except, of course, in the winter.
The Arboretum is nice, but I love the nearby Idea Garden and Japan House. Granted the ponds have been screwed up, but it is still really nice. Japan House used to be my favorite place to walk. What a lovely & peaceful spot. I visited during in the summer during the weekday so parking was easy and the paths were very quiet. Even during a busy time (parking notwithstanding) I can imagine it's still a great place to be!

While the arboretum proper is kind of small, what lies beyond it is arguably the most pleasing part of the twin-city area, including the grounds of Japan House next... 更多
The Arboretum and the University of Illinois Master Gardener Idea Garden is so cool. It is so well cared for that many may wish to have a wedding photo in the area. Family's will love the many gardens.
If you've been to Morton Arboretum or the botanical gardens in Chicago's Lincoln Park or St. Louis' Forest Park, you'll appreciate the University of Illinois Arboretum. The gardens were proposed when the University of Illinois was established in the 1860s but school officials didn't get around to developing the landscape at 2001 South Lincoln on the University's south campus until... 更多
