For those into local history and architecture, this is worth a short visit. It was built to replicate houses in the Middle East. Enjoyed our time there.
An unusual structure for the city of Quincy. No elevator to second level, so its not totally accessible. Would be nicer if there was access to the roof so that we might enjoy the view of the Mississippi River.
Quincy doesn't have a lot of tourist attractions. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. The house is beautiful and takes about ten minutes to see. Maybe there is a group discount but $5.00 per person if you are taking a family - pass.
Lovely view of the mighty Mississippi River from the bluff. The Villa Kathrine - or the Castle as it is commonly called - provides a unique part of Quincy IL history with lovely view of a Mediterranean Castle.
