4.5, only because there were no close shower houses or water hook ups at the site. Not a biggie though; we just filled our fresh water tank and enjoyed the views. Buy firewood in town. It was quiet and overall a great place to relax and enjoy watching the wildlife. We loved it and will be back!
This is a reservoir for drinking water. The lake is very pretty, but mostly undeveloped. I see loads of people fishing, so I assume it's good for that. We've done some hiking, but trails are scarce. Some nice docks to sit and look at the lake.
We camped in our trailer one night on the way to Michigan. We had a reservation and a spot number. There was a sign to park office and we headed there to sign in. After a long drive we got close to a building on a hill that was locked up. We drove a little further to a closed building...
The website said fishing and swimming is in the same place which isn't the case. Our group had to split up. The fishers didn't think it was a good fishing area. Those the swam in the lake had a great experience.
Once we found the trail head we were pleasantly surprised by the nice 2 1/2 mile hike. It took us a while to locate the big oak campground where the trail starts. Following the signs was easy after that. We were not interested in camping or fishing. moderate for our older dog as well.
