We came to visit Dervish at this smaller venue. We sat in the balcony and the view was great. It was not a giant place where it gets overwhelming, but you oftentimes get to meet the performers.
Came for the MLK holiday weekend to see Peter Asher's Musical Memoir of the 60s and Beyond. Wow! The show was truly fabulous and the hall was just perfect for this type of show. Their main theater on the west side of the street is a great small venue for a concert. There are good views of the stage downstairs and up. Very good acoustics. Just went there for the first time but will be sure to go again even though I don't live all that close.
The venue is ran by music lovers. I think most of the people running the place are volunteers and are thrilled to be there. There is not a bad seat in the house. I wish I lived closer so I could go to more shows.
You never know who will be at the Old Town School's main auditorium. One week, it's slack key guitar artists from Hawaii, and the next, it's a great Bluegrass group from North Carolina.
