We visited this National Monument on the recommendation of my Mom. She was raised just over the hill from this camp when the Japanese were being held there. Interesting history although a bit sad, sometimes its good to remember and learn. Understandably we, as a nation, were paranoid. Mom was just a child at the time, but remembers being afraid... 更多

Minidoka is still in the development phase for becoming a fully complete national site. the visitor center is in the planning stages so if you want to read up on it and see exhibits and pictures, you will have to stop at the Hagerman Fossil museum in Hagerman, idaho. but, that being said, you can still get a really good... 更多

Minidoka is a bit out of the way but well worth the drive. (The drive also takes you through lots of Idaho farm land and we got to see some potatoes being harvested and a giant mountain of potatoes. I found it very exciting.) A nice gravel pathway leads you on a 1.6 mile loop through historical buildings and signs... 更多

If more Americans understood the consequences of unjust racial profiling during WWII we wouldn't have the political jingoism we have today.

Nice to learn about this place and the people who had to endure it. It has a really great memorial wall for all the people that had to be here.

The fact that this feels so out in the middle of nowhere already feels historically important. Its proxy visitor center is miles away in the town of Hagerman. There is an app with a map and detailed information on various significant spots on a self-guided tour of the area, but I found it difficult to match what I was looking... 更多

We missed seeing a visitor centre on site, it is yet to be built. It was really hot when we visited so bring sun protection and lots of water as it is remote if forecast is same, 96 the day we visited Some original features remain and there are recreations of the guard towers and fences. The signage is helpful... 更多

I wish they had left more of the original buildings. Even as it is has a high impact. It is located beside a river. There are only parts of little rock houses and there is also a watch tower.

We drove up from HWY 50, heading north the the destination and were disappointed with the lack of signage guiding us to the right site. There was one sign that read, "Historic Site Ahead," but nothing that said anything about "Minidoka National Historic Site." This lead us to question if we were in the right area. A request to the... 更多

This is a great part of history we all should be aware of. It was warm with lots of walking. The facility had a nice presentation clean and maintained.
