The Sea Turtle Center is a very nice facility, informative and friendly staff willing to answer any and all questions. The animal hospital was clean and the animals were well cared for. It was a great experience to see the staff caring for the animals, interactive information area was great.
We learned so much about sea turtles from this wonderful dedicated group of individuals at the center. We actually were able to watch the vet treat an injured sea turtle and were able to visit the turtles in "rehab". Time well spent on our trip to this beautiful part of Georgia- Jekyll Island.
The exhibits were concise and informational. There is a rescue 9 month old Loggerhead turtle named Charlie currently part of the education program. Fridays in the school year, particularly in April and May tend to have school field trips, so if you go on those days you may not get to see any of the educational programs. Around back are... 更多
This is a must see for any nature lover. Open window into the turtle hospital allows guest to see turtles receiving treatment. We watch a turtle's broken shell form a boat collision being clenaed and recovered.
We travelled here as my wife loves sea animals and dolphins. We stopped into the Visitors Center and purchased a shotglass, a coffee mug and a small toy turtle. We entered the "Georgia Sea Turtle Center" and paid $7.00/adult in the gift shop to see the museum, interactive educational displays and rehabitational hospital for sea turtles. In the gift shop... 更多
Great souvenir shop. Cool facts about the turtles and nice to see the rehabbing turtles. The movie was way too long for kids and scared our 5 year old. Maybe a more kid friendly movie would be nice. It was also hard to hear the movie.
This was a very fun activity for the whole family. My children are 11 and 13, and my 13-year-old is often bored these days! She really enjoyed the Sea Turtle Center. I highly recommend.
This was stop #1 on our biking tour of the island and we were glad we stopped in. It's a great facility with a well educated and very personable staff. The turtles on site are rescued and currently in treatment at the facility. This is not a zoo. Once the turtle is able it's released back to the wild.
Three generations all enjoyed our visit. We liked learning about the turtles and the work this place does to rescue them. The staff and volunteers are friendly and informative. The exhibits are interesting for all ages. The gift shop is nice and if I am going to buy a t-shirt it's great to get one that benefits a good cause... 更多
