Hartwell Dam is an almost magically place! The view and the scenery especially from the South Carolina side is awesome! Great place to picnic, go for a walk or run or bike ride! Bring your pets or a Frisbee or a kite and have a blast! Free Southern style weekend fun!
There's a lot to do on the lake. Fishing, swimming, boating etc. The dam is large and you can walk up the steps to the top. You are allowed to walk to the side of the dam. Some areas are off limits, but the view is awesome.
Fishing, skiing, boating, scuba diving ... one of my favorite Georgia lakes. There are many well maintained campgrounds surrounding this relatively clear and deep lake. There is a neat mountain bike trail near Paynes Creek Campground and right on the other side of the great big slab of concrete trout swim. A healthy looking reservoir from a layman's perspective.
Hubby and I have returned to our favorite campground on Lake Hartwell, Watsadler Corp of Engineers campground. Even though we live less than an hour from here, this is our favorite place to camp! There is a boat dock and there are restrooms which are not the cleanest I've seen. There is a playground for the kids. There ate pavilions available and... 更多
I have walked the Dam on hundreds of occasions and still peer forward to the ensuing opportunity. Experience the unsullied country air and optimistic faces of the many fitness sentient Hartwell region residents. Take a moment to adore the sunset at one of the parks picnic tables, a fantastic way to cool down after an invigorating walk.
I grew up in Townville. A good friend of mine moved roughly a mile or so away from the dam. It's beautiful. It's probably one of the best spots in all of Anderson. Lake Hartwell has always been my go to relaxation point.
