Nice area to go for a drive thru the wetlands to see the girds. Migration seasons are the best for a large varity of Bird to spot. If you go slow amd look, you see many gators as well.
We were disappointed yesterday when we arrived and a chain was across the entrance preventing us from entering. We returned later and the entrance was open. I have since found a couple telephone numbers to help in that situation. One is the official number, 321 637 5521 and the other is the Wetlands Road hotline, manned by volunteers giving supposedly... 更多
Went here in search of an alligator! On my recent trip to Florida I really wanted to see an Alligator in its natural habitat (of course from a distance) Of all the places I went to this one is where I finally hit the jackpot. On top of that there is so much beautiful wildlife here and is a must... 更多
We stop here every year on our way south. It's convenient from I-95 to stop in the evenings and photograph the birds and the sunset. This year we had some great birding opportunities, The sandhill cranes walk right on the road, lots of wading birds and hawks this time. We also were rewarded with a beautiful sunset to photograph as... 更多
Visited last October, 2016. Will always include a visit to this wetlands whenever we are in the Melbourne, FL area. So much to see. The bird sightings are absolutely wonderful. Saw quite a few gators, but kept a distance. Followed a blue crane and watched it catch a fish and finagle it down his throat. Could have stayed all day.... 更多
The first thing I like to do is open the car windows and hear all the different bird and duck calls! The environment is lovely and peaceful to engage yourself into, very relaxing. The drive in the preserve is slow and you can pull over on the berm to stop and observe the birds. I bought binoculars just to see... 更多
Live down the street. We love coming here to see the gators eat birds. Others come to watch the birds. You can drive, bike or walk. Lots of places to stop and enjoy the nature. The back pond has a nice size gator but you will see babies on the shore of all of them.
My wife is an avid birder and we visit here at least twice every time. It never disappoints. Even with the drought this year this place still had numerous birds and did not disappoint. We went to several other places like Blackpointe Drive and Blue Heron Wetlands. Ritch Grissom wetlands was by far the best. Got some great pictures and... 更多
