We walked the area with another couple early in the day. It was cooler, and the animals, birds, and even a dolphin were out. It's good to get some excercise and understand the local ecosystem.
I've always seen people in this area and wanted to be there! So much action happening on either side of the bridge. Today, I brought a chair and sat near the water and watched my favorite Floridian bird, the pelican, hunt for lunch. It was so pleasant, it cannot be described. I then took my family back later before sundown... 更多
Good views of the Bay. Loved watching the aquatic creatures in the Man Made Lagoon. Nice walk and very interesting. Couldn't help notice that the walking trail was a bit littered. Consider helping a bit and pick up some of it and dispose of it in the trash cans provided.
This park is at the southern entrance to Longboat Key and a bit tricky to find. It's an easy walk through a subtropical area at the shore of the bay. Two lagoons are interesting to see. Many birds that the grandchildren enjoyed. There is a fishing pier at the end of the trail. Flat, easy walk with ample areas to... 更多
Perhaps it's because of the recent storm but the trail has tons of trash all along the nature trail. It distracts from the natural beauty. There were very few water birds that we noticed today. It's a nice nature trail that's easy to walk once you find it. Signage is not where tourists might find it traveling in either direction.
We were challenged to find the place, though eventually did. Signage is not very prominent, or visible. It's a rather short trail, with a few picnic tables and benches, along the way. The path was about 1.25 miles, round trip. We saw a few birds, but not many, at all. We were disappointed to see quite a bit of litter... 更多
Small well maintained nature preserve. Park across the highway just after you cross the bridge on to Longboat key. Quiet, peaceful walk. Good views of a couple of tidal basins and a nice view across the bay to see Sarasota. Allow about one hour for an easy walk
I was hoping for a larger escape area. This location abuts the high traffic area along Gulf of Mexico drive, with little room for turning around, let alone serenity.
We take this walk at least once each time we visit Long Boat Key. It's a fairly short trail along the bay wth a few decks out over the water where we've often seen dolphins. The first part of the trail is paved, but the majority is not. It is very well groomed though. Depending on what time of the... 更多
I walk through this park on a regular basis as part of my regular workout. The trail is along the edge of Sarasota Bay and has a couple of platforms for viewing. The first of these is over a saltwater lagoon where you can frequently see Blue Herons and Egrets. At the end of the walk there is a platform... 更多
