I was pleasantly surprised by the museum and all it offered. Bought a Groupon and took my 4th grader and 6th grader during holiday break. The kids were very interested and engaged. We decided on the "audio" tour which was the BEST option for them (even myself). We all pushed the buttons and listened at the same time which made... 更多
This is a little gem of an old time Florida Museum. No, its not a modern museum, by any means. It is quaint and has a charm of its own. The building itself is an historic structure (old train depot) and if you want a look at the early days of Ft. Myers this is the place to go. The... 更多
We were pleasantly surprised that such a small building contained so much information. We liked the audio tour which allowed us to enjoy the history of Fort Myers at our own pace. Young children would like the prehistoric area but might be bored with the rest. The staff was friendly and helpful. You can get up close and touch everything... 更多
Really pleasant staff, listen to the headphones and you will learn a lot plus they have a lot of travelling exhibits like Egyptian or The Beatles. Been here several times. The even have a charity event with Alice in WOnderland theme.
Fascinating and well organized, clean well lit museum of Fort Myers and area history. The cracker house outside is a reproduction. The Esperanza is one of the longest and last private Pullman rail cars. It was like stepping back into time. The individual free papers explaining each exhibit are chock full of information. There are hand held audio wands that... 更多
A complete and comprehensive visual walk through the history of southwest Florida and Fort Meyers. Nicely displayed including hand held audio wands that bring the history to life. It's a great value that should not be missed. Enjoy.
Looks small on the outside but it is packed with lots of interesting artifacts! So much i didn't realize about Florida and the SW area in particular. The private train car outside that can be toured was also amazing.
This little museum is oriented mainly to the development of the town and it's roll in WW2 with a pretty good chunk of prehistory thrown in as well. It is also the venue for many historic talks and lectures and is a good venue for that sort of activity.
For a small museum, it packed in a lot of information. We spent an enjoyable 2 hours or so going through it. The audio handsets really added to the experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly and informative. We especially liked going through the private train car. It was definitely worth seeing.
I really enjoyed this museum! Not a super large museum, but nice size for the area. As I am an avid fossil guy, I enjoyed seeing that portion of the museum. The "Cracker House" was pretty interesting also. I don't know much about Florida's past - so, this was a good chance to get educated on the history of Florida... 更多
