We've been in this maze of roads and trials a number of times. We've seen lois of snakes and gators in here, one a real monster. Many different kinds of birds. There's fish in many of the little ponds and streams that dot the area....更多
There were many places along our ride through the forest that had recently had a fire, as hundreds of trees were blackened from 5' on down to the base. Didn't know if it was accidental or what. We did see a couple of gators in...更多
It is a great place to both drive around and do some gentle hiking. We saw a lot of wildlife and birds, only one other car. The bugs were not bad at all in March, do not let it discourage you.

Taking the nature drive, we saw armadillos, Great Blues, Great Egrets, and deer. Tip: get out at the boardwalk to the pond. It looks like the kind of place you'd expect to find Walden.
We went to the lower swannee and it was a nice place to sit and eat and view the river. You can see the manatees here sometimes too.
