I walked all the way there and it was mid-day. It is really hard to figure how to get in. I walked the building twice. It came highly recommended, so I was extremely disappointed.
The amount of CT genealogy resources on hand is incredible. Additionally the staff are very helpful and willing to assist. It's a no frills location, however, the amount of information available offsets this altogether. Don't hesitate to ask for help. One other suggestion - before you visit check to be sure the library is open; I typically try to visit... 更多
I had traveled to Connecticut to do genealogical research and the Library offered so much that could not be found elsewhere. The staff was beyond helpful. Loved the card files and actually found a death record that I had been searching for, for over 13 years. If the staff had not given me the map showing the changing of the... 更多
I spent a couple of hours here on a Saturday morning. Street parking on Saturdays is free and they open a parking lot that is usually for staff. The building is relatively deserted and you have to find the correct doorway to enter, but if you follow the directions carefully, it is all good. I could have spent two days... 更多
This is THE place to study Connecticut history and genealogy. Their collections are unparalleled, much of it unique. The staff is friendly and helpful. Do walk upstairs to the law library and the wonderful small museum. Can't beat the price, which is free!
The support staff and the materials are outstanding. I was researching the 1870s and the newspaper on site materials were incredibly helpful. Off site materials can be ordered and delivered within a day or so. The rules for the use of archive materials are apprpriately enforced. I did not visit the museum. The interior needs to be restored and regilted... 更多
The State of Connecticut has opened the renovated Library filling it with artifacts and historic memorablia. It's a pleasant diversion for a history buff but don't go out of you way to visit. It'll be there when you want to walk by
Wow one of the best Library's in Connecticut, it has a wonderful Colt Gun Museum that shares how the west was won! It also has a lot of Connecticut history and art. A must see for the whole family.
We were here doing genealogical research. The staff was friendly, very cooperative in their help and it is a great resource for research of Connecticut colonial families.
I love all museums. While I had a good experience at this attraction, I was disappointed in the condition of the exhibits and the fact that it doesn't look like it has been updated in 50 years except to put a posted of Ella Grasso on top of an old voting booth maybe 35 years ago. When you walk in... 更多
