I guess the forts don't operate for much of the year. It is very seasonable. Don't know why. Who knows when an attack will come. The place was great to visit and just look from the outside and walk around the grounds. Really wish I could have gone inside the building/museum. Come on guys, open year round.
If you are interested in history, or the American Revolution, you will enjoy a visit here. The fort itself isn't gated so you can visit at any time. The repairs being done to the entrance have been completed. Not only a great historical site but a beautiful view of the river , Fort Trumbull and New London across the river.
