If you have the time and the sense of adventure...rent (or use your own) a Jeep and get off the beaten path and go explore the mountain roads in SW Colorado. We loved this excursion. We picked up the county road south of Ouray (leave as early in the morning as possible to minimize traffic - yes, traffic), and headed... 更多
We went Four wheeling to Animas Fork? The view was spetuclar? The ride was a little rough but not bad. We chose not to go to the top of the pass due to weather.

This has to be one of my favorite places on earth! If you would like to see a well preserved ghost town, up high in the Rocky Mountains, and get a small glimpse into what it must have been like to brave the elements and altitude at the time of the sliver and gold rush, this is a must see!... 更多
There are hundreds of ghost towns in Colorado, mostly remnants of the Gold Rush era in the late 1800s. Most of the towns no longer exist. But the ones that do, like Animas Forks and Ashcroft and St. Elmo and Gothic, are worth visiting, especially if you are an historian. Animas Forks is a ghost town located 12 miles northeast... 更多
