It's good that the community and state are focused on renovations of the older buildings in Golden. Looking forward to returning to Golden, CO and visiting when the Astor House re-opens.
Neat house to take a look back into history and my 9 year old loved looking around. The young women working was very nice and knowledgeable about the houses history.
I was excited about seeing this, but I was disappointed. There is a tub in the house that is thought to be the first one in Golden. The view from the balcony was nice. The furniture in the house was nothing special.
Read the other reviews and then GO! I won't do a repeat here but encourage anyone with a love of history, especially Colorado history, to take a half hour and tour the museum. It's only $3 each, can be done at your leisure and is...更多
Built in 1867, the Astor House is one of the oldest landmarks in Golden. They've kept this house true to the period with furniture, cookware, utensils, decor, etc. The woman who eventually bought the house took in laundry from the miners who would come down...更多
