It is worth your time to make reservations for one of their open nights at the observatory. Bring warm clothes for most nights as it is not heated where the telescope sits. Very interesting history behind the building and the telescope.
I grew up in this neighborhood and it is a nice area, great park, close to Denver University and the Observatory is pretty super..
This is a very popular park with the neighborhood families. Not only did the city put in a new playground recently, but the park itself is HUGE! Plenty of room to play rugby, soccer, lacrosse, football, basketball -- You name it. The college kids from DU can often be seen playing sports with coolers of beer, but I've never seen... 更多
The Chamberlain Observatory, which did in the heart of Observatory Park, is run by Denver University, and a group of volunteers. Every Tuesday and Thursday they offer public viewing in the evenings for only $4 a person, and you get a history lesson, literally on time and how we came to measure it, the importance of the observatory, and how... 更多
I live on Washington Park and so I have to admit that I am a little partial. However, for a small neighborhood park, this is a great park. We have played volleyball here a few times and it is a fun location in a great neighborhood...even if it isn't as good as Wash Park.
The Denver Astronomical Society hosts a monthly star party at this park. There are usually dozens of folks with their telescopes on the lawn, gladly willing to let you look through their scopes and talk to you about what you are seeing. Also, they open up the Chamberlin Observator which has a telescope right out of an HG Wells story.... 更多
Observatory Park sits just East of the University of Denver. Older neighborhood with a mix of beautiful new and old homes ith mature trees. This park has a working observatory which is open to the public? Check their website. The park itself is divided by a street. The North side has a nice children's playground with drinking a fountain and... 更多
This is a small neighborhood park in Denver, with, yes, you guessed it... a small observatory. I actually used the observatory when I took a class at University of Denver back in the 70s. Park has outdoor tennis courts, usually some dogs playing, and some benches to relax. It is a nice quiet place for a picnic- nothing really exciting... 更多
