What an interesting place! Thousands of bugs of every type from around the world. Don't worry--they're all dead and mounted with descriptions of when and where they came from. Great for all ages--little boys especially!
This is a little whole in the wall place and it doesn't look like anything special, however when you walk into the Museum it is amazing. This is a hug collections from around the world of insects and bugs of every kind. This has become a favorite place of mine, make sure you check their schedule because they do close... 更多
A campground and museum in the same place. I took my kids (7, 5, and 2) to check out the bugs. They were all interested but my 5 year old kept saying she felt bugs crawling on her. There were only bugs under glass and none anywhere else so she really had nothing to worry about. Besides the daycare that... 更多
This museum offers one of the best collections of butterflies and insects that I've ever seen. The cost is very reasonable ($6 for adults and children 5 & under are free) and everybody will find this collection very interesting even the young children. From May 1st - September 30th the museum is open from 9am - 6pm. You can't miss... 更多
It's helpful to remind oneself while viewing this immense collection of giant tropical insects that they are all 1) under glass and 2) dead for over 100 years. An immense and impressive display of all manner of tropical insects and arachnids- tray upon tray of iridescent butterflies, mantids, giant tarantulas, locusts, beetles and more. Amazing to consider that someone must... 更多
As soon as my buddy and I drove off the expressway and saw the giant beetle standing on the hill, we knew we were in for a treat. It was a Sunday afternoon and we pretty much had the lace to ourselves. We walked in the door and were greeted by two pleasant ladies who immediately helped orient us with... 更多
May is old school. It exhibits a LOT of bugs, etc. If you have to have video displays to stimulate your brain this is not the place. If you rather see the 'real thing' instead of photos/video visit this place. We took our 11 and 8 year old grand daughters and they were shocked, intrigued, grossed, and fascinated. Just what... 更多
Our family enjoys visiting at least once a year. We bring the camper and stay at the campground. The kids love to fish and play. We take long walks. It is close to home but just like a.mini vacation while still close to town.
Don't let the bad reviews fool you! This place is a gem! If you like oddities and things off the beaten path then this is the place! Its like a time capsule... a sort of bizarre little museum that hasn't been changed in years. Yes, its raggedy and the space museum part is more of a joke, but the bug... 更多
The May insect collection (it is almost uniquely insects and arachnids) is a beautiful and very extensive collection, but unfortunately the display makes it appear as a carnival side show instead of a truly world class collection conducted by a learned scientist who dedicated his passion and life to the collection. There are myriad endangered or even extinct exemplars in... 更多
