The Steinbeck Center in Salinas is just minutes off U.S Route 101. We visited a week ago on the way to Monterey Bay. Parking in the adjacent deck was only $1. Parking is available along the street (price unknown).

As an author, this day trip was well worth the journey. Although a study of some of Steinbeck's works would be beneficial, there is still a lot one can gain from a visit to the center.
