Find out what Placer mining is and learn about how the gold rush affected this area. Don't bother with the walking tour of Main Street. I'd rather look around inside the museum, because Main Street isn't anywhere near as interesting as this building.
This is a very small museum with some interesting collections from local residents. There is a brochure of historical buildings that is offered, as well, if one is interested in walking through the town.

The 2 ladies manning the place were great. Educational, friendly and were even ready to be educated more. They can help miners trying to get educated on traditional mining districts and the area history.
