We have lived near here for 35 years and our bluegrass band plays every year for their yearly pancake breakfast fundraiser. This is a great place to experience California history of gold mining. Docents do a very good job explaining how the stamp mill worked and how gold was extracted. Often blacksmiths are working in the working blacksmith shop. The... 更多
We checked out the Park recently and will definitely come back for a camping trip. So much history and scenic beauty. Campground is tucked deep into the park. Great for hikes.
We used to camp here with our kids, campground has been updated with new showers & restrooms. It's quiet and there are lots of trails to hike down and up. The building in picture was an old stamp mill when gold was mined here. There is a great ranger program for kids. This is a good base for taking in... 更多
Take the 1.3 mile 4 wheel drive up to Eureka Lake and enjoy a picnic by the water...no one will be there except you and nature. Then be sure to wear comfortable shoes and make the hike up to the peak. The trail takes you up rocky trails, Alpine meadows, oaks and one forest and then delivers breath-taking views of... 更多
A great museum with buildings left over from the mining days. When docents are there, they have the Assay office and Blacksmith's area open. History abounds in the museum. A working model stamp mill too! Gold panning for kids, hiking trails and a campground.
While I can't rate the entire park, we did enjoy the very interesting museum at the park entrance. Fascinating info on the history of ski racing in the area, flora and fauna including taxidermied critters, and good descriptions on mining Quartz for gold. Outside the museum are artifacts from the mining industry including a working blacksmith shed, a model stamping... 更多
We have been camping at this Park for 10 years now. We missed it much when they closed for renovation a few year ago. We love camping here because it is quiet (no party here), very clean with great working showers & flush toilets. A nice size creek runs thru the property and is accessible from a lot of the... 更多
I like this campground because it has nice sized campsites. It's kept up and I've never been bothered by noisy neighbors. Now I could have been just lucky but still. The area around the park is so diverse if you are a nature lover or an outdoor adventurer this is a great spot to hang your hat after a long... 更多
I don't think you can go wrong with any State park in California, they are all unique, well maintained, and a pleasure to stop in. Plumas-Eureka State Park carries on that tradition.
