Going on the train from Niles and through the canyon was a great treat for our grandkids a few years ago. We took the Holiday Train which was a great evening adventure.
This is a great experience for parents/grandparents with little ones that like trains ... and who doesn't like trains. Some cares are open air and some are inside seating. Great piece of history and about 30 minutes each way. Definitely worth it.
Enjoyed the steam locomotive train ride from Niles to Sunol and back. A nice and pleasant experience and not very expensive ($10 for seniors). We chose to sit in an open car so as to really "drink in" the scenery. Only downside was that due to some malfunction on an earlier run that day, the ride commenced about 50 min.... 更多
Fun to go with the family during Christmas time. Train is all decorated inside and out. Santa Clause is walking through the cabins. People are singing Christmas carols. And there are chocolate chip cookies.
People can ride the train of lights in the month of December, maybe the tail end of November. Tickets sell out in advance. The trains were decorated with lights inside and out and Santa Claus was walking through the train cars. One car was selling hot chocolate and snacks. Make sure to leave some time once you exit the train... 更多
Riding the Niles railway is a trip back in time and always fun. We've done it many times. This section of railway is a historic ride through a beautiful canyon. Apparently it is the last section of the transcontinental railway to be completed. This is really a rolling museum. Throughout the year the the Pacific Locomotive Association has special events... 更多
The Niles Train, is for everyone that loves trains. On the Winter Holidays they run the "Train of Lights" which is a train where the exterior has been decorated with holiday lights. The "docents" are great people who love trains and like telling you about their train and talking traincars. There was ample parking at the train station for you... 更多
It is nice to see a huge steam train with my family. Had a spectacular view of the vintage steam train and my daughter (3 yrs old) was so excited to see the huge. Had a good time with my family and friends.
Riding this train is a great trip in getting a feel for what train traveling would have been like in our nations' history. Old Town Niles itself is also a wonderful weekend day trip experience.
