Hassayampa River Preserve has short hiking trails and is great for bird watching. We also saw a kingsnake on our walk. There are plenty of benches to take in the riparian area. If you hike to the top of Lykes lookout you won't be disappointed! Amazing views.
This is a nice spot to wander through especially on a hot day. Paths are meandering through the area with birds if you take your time. There are a number of feeders by the visitor center that had a lot of birds feeding. Information at the Visitor Center makes it worth a stop. Nice picnic area also. Interesting to think... 更多
I love visiting the preserve. Nice peaceful spot for seeing our local flora and fauna, especially birds. Several trails give one the opportunity to stroll through nature. A well done museum and botanical garden awaits as well. Don't miss it!
A member of The nature Conservatory, located just outside the town of Wickenburg, AZ and about 45 min from west Phoenix up HWY 60 (heading toward Vegas). A birders paradise, grasses, palm trees, mesquite trees, a river and numerous trails to walk. This is not a strenuous walk in any way..excellent for families on an outing, picnic tables and you... 更多
I volunteer here as well as coming here to go for little hikes and for birdwatching. Hassayampa means upside down so Hassayampa River is an upside down river. It flows underground most of the time, but at the preserve it flows above ground. There is a lot of history here as well. There is a nice flower garden you can... 更多
We enjoyed the friendly staff, the museum exhibits, and the trails. What a beautiful place for old coots to relax and enjoy. I was especially impressed to learn that the Hassayampa River Preserve has a graduate of the prestigious Naubuc School as a sitting member of their staff. It was a pleasure to chat with her.
Main house (entry) is a well done museum of what the property used to be and what you can expect to see on the trails. Entrance fee is very reasonable. The Preserve is quiet and offers a variety of flora and fauna. Some trails, sand, are more difficult to navigate for someone with a walking disability. People of all ages... 更多
