Museum was worth a visit. Every car was incredible. All kinds of cars are on exhibit - Indy cars, stock cars, F1 cars,etc. It is inside of a luxury car dealership and takes about an hour to tour the museum.
If you are near Scottsdale you need to go to the collection of Penske dealerships not only only to see the Bentleys, Aston Martins, Porsches, etc... BUT you must go to the Penskecollection of race cars. Very fascinating and entertaining.
Stopped here after finding short blurb in Phoenix travel guide and glad we did. And bonus it is in the midst of lots of high end car dealerships. There are Formula 1, Nascar and pace cars. The Penske car museum is really cool. Actual race cars are there for your viewing, along with other race memorabilia. When done, walk next door and look at the ferraris and Lamborghini's(not cars, pieces of artwork that you drive,
This is not a giant motorsports museum, but it IS a free exhibit, in the middle of a beautiful Penske luxury car dealership, with some beautiful pieces of motorsports history. This small but beautiful museum offers free admission. Located just off of Scottsdale Rd, north of Scottsdale, amidst a number of very high end auto dealerships. Ganassi fans can stay away - this is a Penske palace!
A very nice museum in the middle of a car dealership selling some of the most expensive cars made. The museum is small but is packed with great racing history. Because it's free, it is even better!
