If your from Alabama or not, the State Capitol building and its grounds are beautiful and full of such history. The tour is self guided but its so cool to wonder the halls and see the old Senate and House Chambers. Plus look up at the beautiful Rotunda. We got a great welcome outside, we met Governor Bentley...hows that for... 更多

I was so glad we got to tour this facility on our recent trip to Montgomery. They offer free tours each day, and I would highly recommend going on one. They last about an hour. The building has been beautifully restored, and evidently is primarily used as a museum rather than a working office building. Our tour guide was very... 更多

We stopped here when we first came to AL. Nice to see. The architecture always amazes me of state capitals.

Beautiful spot. We were able to stand on such spots as where Jefferson Davis was sworn in and in the senate chambers where the south voted to cecede. Well preserved and informative!

On a beautiful sunny day, the Governor of Alabama announced a press release on the steps to the Capitol. The plan was to encourage celebrations state wide and to encourage tourists to enjoy the state. I introduced a UK couple to the governor who made it a point to attend and take photos. They were given a small "Alabama 200"... 更多

There is a curving three story cantilever staircase in the front foyer. Security scanners ensure you do not bring in any weapons (including small pocket knives). Visitors can see the original chambers where the Senate and the House of Representatives convened. I think they could have done more in describing the actions and votes taken during the civil rights movement.

The capital is open to the public for free. I had a tour guide who had been at the capital for historical events in the early 60s for civil rights. It was great to hear about the events from someone who was there! It has a great gift shop too. Just a beautiful building!

You can take a tour or do a self-guided tour via a brochure. The docent is extremely helpful. The Capitol is great for photos inside and out. Nice museum gift shop. We wandered into the State Auditors office and met Anita, a retired teacher and a great person.

What a beautiful building and grounds. At the top of the hill, you can't miss this beautiful building. Nice architecture, and well kept too.

We could not go into the building but got some great pictures on the grounds as the sun set. The lighting was superb.
