Dropped by during my off hours of my business trip, but this place was way better than I expected. Had detailed audio program, the machinery might be a bit old, but with all these old video and photos seems precious and interesting. Non-Portuguese speaker is fine, as most exhibits have Japanese explanation.
Even if you are not directly related to Japanese living in Brazil or their ancestors, you might find this museum of interest. Although mostly in Japanese and Spanish, there is some limited English language information available, too.
