This is a large beach, with lots of bars with tables and chairs. If you eat and drink you can use them for free and some of them are at the beach.
It is full of people and the bars have loud music. It is very typical from Bahia and some of them have good food.Prices are fair.
Long and sandy and busy on a Sunday. Weekdays, sometimes you can 100 metres to yourself. Sand is soft and clean with veru little seaweed. On the mainroad from which you reach it are some attractive looking restaurants. But Ilheus, unlike Porto Seguro or Transcoso does not really seem to be trying to be a tourist resort.
This was the beach outside our pousada/hotel. The first visit was when the water was low, and the distance down to the water was about 100 meters white sand. When the water is high, it will not be so much left. The length is about 10 km (but I am not sure if all is seen as the same beach)....
