Visiting Big Bend has been on my husband's bucket list and I can safely say, we both enjoyed our time here very much. Grand vistas of Texas mountains! Great trails! Beautiful sunsets!!!
We decided to spend a few days here as part of a cross country trip. The park is beautiful and has many possibilities for hiking, exploring and playing in the Rio Grande. Tips: A. May is awfully hot. Come earlier in the year if possible. B. Only 1 area with RV hookups so reserve or get there right at noon... 更多
What an amazing place. There's so much to see and do. We entered the park thru the Persimmon entrance, explored the Rio Grande Valley one day, then the second day we did the Chisos Mountains and made our way through to Terlingua and Marfa. There is gas at Panther Junction inside the park, but I recommend filling up outside of... 更多
I don't know what more can be said about this amazing place. We had never been and took our two young teens and had a wonderful time. We stayed in Alpine and drove here because all the places closer by we're already booked. It was just beautiful. We hiked at the Chisos Mountains. The views were amazing. Parking was a... 更多
I was unprepared for the vast nothingness, then the sudden something that was so beautiful! The most beautiful part was the Basin - absolutely the most stunning scenery! We had lunch at the restaurant in the Basin, then drove down to the Rio Grande. This is a place that you must visit once in your life!
This park is high desert mountain terrain at it's finest. It drops down to the Rio Grande River and its beautiful canyons and quiet basin. Plenty of wildlife. Saw 2 small herds of javelina. Abundant bird life. Great photo opportunity. This is desert country with few people and long drives 60-80 miles between settlements. Take water with you in case.
The scenery is vastly different from one section of the park to the next. We found that out because we drove on every road in Big Bend. Oh once in a while we got out and walked over to see an attraction, but mostly we did not hike. We especially enjoyed Santa Elena Canyon and the new fossil exhibit. We... 更多
As a native Texan, I cannot believe it has taken me 65 years to make my first visit to Big Bend. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. I spent 3 days in the Chisnos Mountain Lodge in the park. There are several hikes that are easy to moderate that satisfied my need for hiking. There are 3 main drives with short... 更多
I spent 4 days here, and it wasn't nearly enough to explore the entire park. There are great trails in different areas of the park, ranging from desert to high mountains. If hiking isn't your thing, then there are also terrific scenic drives, with multiple pull-outs and overlooks where you can enjoy the scenery. Ask for a map when you... 更多
