What it has is good. I just expected it to be bigger. I mean c'mon, the Big Bend is huge. The museum of the Big Bend....Not so much.
Located on the SRSU campus, the admission is free, the exhibits aren't grandiose (you're crazy if you think you'll find a Smithsonian-y museum in a town like Alpine), but it's not bad for a city that boasts a population of under 6,000 residents. My favourite...更多
This small museum is a very nice quick history of the Alpine, Texas area and it has been very impressively made. It starts with prehistoric times (including fossils), moves on to Native Americans, Spanish explorers, the 1800s, and onto modern times. Part of the museum...更多

Nicely presented exhibits. Takes about an hour. Particularly interesting on the turn of the 20th Century period and the 1916 war between US and Mexico.
