On our way to Swakupmond, we came here just to see the flamingo's. Then we went away again. We just walked a little bit along the coast line and saw a lot of flamingo's. So great.
It sure bursts my bubble of what I know about flamingoes. First at Long Beach, the flamingoes are rather small and the color feather is a dull pink. I found out that there are another specie of longer and taller flamingoes. Against the azure sky and sea, the color contrast was very dramatic. I guess my disappointment was looking at... 更多
The scenery to me was breathtaking; it will bring your kid's mind to reality because the amount of pink flamingos was enormous. I was just mesmerized by the free attraction.
We arrived at the beach and there they were - thousands of pink flamigoes. Just beautiful, and seeming unperturbed by people The day before it was a cloudy misty morning, they were there then too but to see their true beauty, go on a sunny day
Initially the amount of flamingos were disappointing. But, as you drive around the bay, where low tide exist, you will be rewarded with thousands of these unique creatures. They are fun to watch and note the differences in colour. Worth the drive from Swakopmund.
we had such a brilliant time just sitting & watching these beautiful funny birds. You can get really close & be amazed at just how noisy they are. We watched them for about an hour feeding, landing & flying out. We did drive up to Pelican point & also stopped further south of this area closer to the town where... 更多
We were overwhelmed with the vast number of flamingos in this bay and you can get up close to them, if you are patient enough, to take some wonderful pictures. The kids will love this as well. We watched them for a full 20 minutes as they moved in large groups in amazing patterns that demonstrate how this helps them... 更多
During our visit we saw LOTS of birds. They were mostly flamingos, both the greater and lesser. There must have been thousands feeding in the water.
This is an ideal place for a log walk on the waterfront. Along the way you will see enormous flocks of two types of flamingoes and probably a few oil rigs in the bay, for repair or just cheap parking?
This visit took my breath away. Even though it wasn't high season, the number of flamingoes became a pink blur as they moved in and out from their feeding grounds. It was quiet and that added to the experience and allure of this area. The birds were fairly relaxed and offered good photographic opportunities. I also took the drive past... 更多
