This is a nice treat because it is free and the view of the city and the Hudson River is beautiful. The observation deck was not crowded for a Friday afternoon, which is another nice treat. Try to go early because they close around 3.
The View from top is breathtaking. Weather was beautiful. The Hudson river is visible. The Whole of Albany is visible from the Observation deck on the 42nd Floor

Its free! Go! Terrific view over Albany and further up to Vermont along the river. Entrance is via the underground plaza near to the Museum end. Check opening hours. Apparently worth going in the snow!
