My husband and I learned hiw people weave in Sukarara Village. You can buy the Songket, made by local people. Moreover, you can see directly the process, wear the traditional clothes and take photos near the traditional house which is located next to the shop.
In sukarara all the homes weave. You can have a small tour of the village. We went before tourist peak season. So it was worth it. It was a good place to visit to understand about the local people and their way of life. It is not a built up place for tourists but the actual location of the village, and the people living there still. Very worth the visit.
Short tour to Traditional Lombok Weaving Village called Sukarara. All women do weaving. The process could be 1 month to make full sarong. I bought it one. quite expensive, but worth after saw how they made it.
