Curug Citambur which "Citambur" or "Cai Tambur" in Sundanese has the meaning of "Drumming Water", is the highest waterfall in West Java Province as well as the best-known waterfall among thousands of other waterfalls we could explore around Taneuh Sunda, Nagara Parahyangan.
It is formed of main water flowing along a river sourced from Mount Masigit which falls from a very high cliff into the valley on its downside causing tremendous water splash that sprinkles all around its surroundings.
Best moment to see on this waterfall is when the warm sun rays meet the cold water sprinkles it will create a very beautiful natural panoramic view of rainbow that stretches clearly in front of it.
This waterfall located administratively in Karangjaya Village, Pasirkuda District, Cianjur Regency.
We can go to the village from Bandung, Cianjur, or Sukabumi as its nearest city with distance about 70-90 km and time about 2-2,5 hours.
Along the way to the village, we will be accompanied by views that are mostly tea plantations.
By the time we reach the village, it is take only few minutes trekking up to reach this waterfall.
